Paper Competition
The purpose of the competition is to encourage undergraduate students to write and present outstanding technical papers. this is an amazing opportunity to showcase any project to a panel of judges.
Win a cash prize and an invitation to the annual IISE conference in Atlanta, Georgia! Top 3 winners will receive a certificate and can put this on their resume.
Paper Reports, PowerPoints, and the Submission Form will be due Wednesday, February 19th at 11:59 to Jamirah Watts (jamiwatt@ttu.edu).
Eligibility
Students must be an undergraduate student when the nominated paper is written.
Paper can be projects done for a company as part of a course, internship, or other activity. They may be undergraduate research projects done at the home institution.
A faculty member may serve as an advisor on a project, but the work should primarily be done by the students.
A faculty member cannot be a co-author of the paper.
Only IISE members are eligible to participate.
Each participating university, including the host institution, may submit up to two papers as entries
Poster Competition
The IISE South-Central Regional Conference Poster Competition is an opportunity to showcase a student work without requiring a conference paper and oral presentation while allowing for a broader range of topics than the IISE Undergraduate Technical Paper Competition. The poster competition is open to undergraduate and graduate students, capstone/senior design teams, internship/co-op projects (if permitted by the company), and non-traditional research topics (engineering education, etc.). Participants must print their poster themselves and provide it at check-in. An electronic submission must be emailed to jamiwatt@ttu.edu by Wednesday , February 19th at 11:59 PM. A template poster is provided here, but the layout of the poster can be modified if preferred, so long as it is the required size (48”x36”).
